<description>Well , there are other palces in our country as well as this globe where roads are being widened
and new facilities being provided but nowadays keeping in mind the environment there
is least destruction towards nature's presence.
When we can ape many other things from the west we can as well this.

With respect to increasing traffic, our concious personal efforts to reduce useage of vehicles
use public transport or carpooling , WALK , cycle etc and device other options for
our selves.

Iam sure if the plan is thought over again , there sure will be another solution to stop
destruction in the disguise of urbanisation.

		<description>Mr. Jayanth,

I share your views and concerns completely. We should try to save this road at any cost. I am sure there are ways to preserve this road and have metro too. I ams ure there lot of experts who would be able give suggestions on this.

As a common citizen I have no clue as to how we can protest...But I do feel very strongly abou this and all of us should atlleast make a token protest. i am willing to join any movement towards saving this heritage...</description>

		<description>Hi,

What alternaitve is there .can you suggest .Most of you want to have the cake and eat it also. You want wider roads, more public transport ,metro etc etc .at the same time you want the trees by the side of excisting roads keopt as it is,Is it physically possible.why don;t you suggets a viable, cost effective alternative cousrse while fighting for the same. In our country people want developement ,but at the same time when some thing is taken up some body or other opposes.
If only our fore fathers who planted trees and made bangalore beautiful had also thought that the city would grow and made provision for exapnsion of roads etc and planted the trees accordingly, this problem would not have come.Perhaps they thought the city will never grow to the size to-day.
While I am with you to see that nanda talkies road trees are not cut, what alternative is there .You please think and suggest.
It is not only with this ,but it applies to everything. When you oppose a project, please suggest a viable, cost effective alternative and which is acceptable to one and all.

		<description>Hi,

I studied in Vijaya high school few decades back(early 80’s). I stayed in Jayanagar 8th block those days and I used to take “Nanda Talkies Road" to walk up to the school. Those were the days when there were very less trees and gardens. I remember BCC (Bangalore City Corporation) used to struggle hard to save the tree plants being eaten by cows. There used to be hardly any traffic on the road except for couple of BTS bus routes. Some of the speed bikers who used to participate in Shovalam race used to use this road as a practice track. It was then the first ever fencing was done to the gardens. Rose garden came to existence. One day there was a report in the newspaper( probably early 80’s) that Bangalore is getting its “Metro” and a track would run through these Gardens. I was so thrilled that I could go to school in the train. Well it never took off. Used to feel very sad that Metro is not started then (now the sadness is for the same cause!!).

When ever a foreign delegation used to visit Bangalore and when they visited Mysore, the motorcade used to pass through Nanda talkies road. I remember Indira Gandhi, Kosigin of Russia pass by and all kids stand along the road to wave at them.

It used to be a single lane road those days. Over the years trees grew along with the flourishing gardens. The joy was short lived. Then came the Cauvery Phase 3 or 4 to destroy the gardens (on the left side while going towards south end circle).

Probably from 1990 till about 2002 the road was in its best (except for the growing traffic). And now the “Metro” again. It really hurts a lot to imagine the road after completion of metro.

God save the road!!!!
